Dinah is an experienced and fully qualified counsellor with specialist training in working with individuals, couples (heterosexual and same sex) and young people (ages 11-18).  She is currently undertaking additional family therapy training so is able to see families (two or more people from different generations) at low cost.  

She has worked for Relate, the relationship charity, and its young people’s service Relateen for six years and for the last year in her own private practice. She has extensive experience of couples work, long and short term work with individuals, counselling young people in secondary school and family reconnection work with people who are homeless and/or substance abusing.  She has also worked as a Domestic Violence Advocate, Parent Support Adviser and Student Adviser (welfare and education).

Dinah is trained as an integrative therapist and adapts her therapeutic approach to suit the client.  She works with ideas and techniques from a number of theoretical approaches, including systemic, psychodynamic, person-centred, solution-focussed therapy and CBT.  She is client-centred and aims at all times to work in a way that is helpful to you as an individual.

As a member of Relate she is bound by the Ethical Guidelines of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and is currently applying for individual accreditation.
