Homeopathy, like all forms of holistic medicine, focuses on improving the overall health and well-being of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. Pregancy/Natural Inductions/Fertility

We have a drop-in Baby Clinic (ante/post-natal) on Mondays 10-12noon. Parents of newborns and pre-school children, plus pregnant women, attend either when they have specific queries re natural approaches to pregnancy, labour and childhood ailments; or just to meet other families in a social way. Qualified homeopaths and usually an acupuncturist are on hand to advise for free. Pregnant women can also enquire about our inductions using homeopathy (from our specially made homeopathic birthing kit), acupuncture or reflexology. The Health Works homeopaths have a high success rate with women seeking treatment for infertility.

- Homeopathy -

In the 18th Century medicine was barbaric with doctors using blood- letting, leeches and great quantities of toxic drugs.   A German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann, became disillusioned with these practices and began to look for a safe, gentle and effective method of healing which he named Homeopathy.   Homeopathy is a natural medical system that uses safe, non-toxic medicines that have no side-effects.   It is a gentle, natural alternative to potentially harmful drug treatment.   Homeopathic medicines are made from natural substances and are given in little pillules that stimulate the person's own self-healing capacity.   Homeopathic medicines can be used by anyone of any age for a wide range of illnesses (see poster on right).   A homeopathic consultation looks at the whole person as an individual.   It takes into account mental, emotional and physical symptoms, getting to the root cause of the problem.   This holistic form of treatment can help to enhance your general health, well-being and energy.

- Flower Essences -

Flower Essences were first used 5000 years ago by the Egyptians.   Bush Flower Essences were discovered by a 3rd generation Australian herbalist, homeopath and naturopath, Ian White, who believes them to be one of the major systems of healing, and states that "The power of the bush essences and the results they constantly produce are astounding.   They act as catalysts to help resolve a vast range of negative emotional states... Most physical illness is the end result of emotional imbalance." When an essence is ingested or absorbed through the skin, it is initially assimilated into the bloodstream.   Then it settles midway between the circulatory and nervous systems.   The quartz-like crystalline silica structures in the physical body (such as those in the bloodstream, the hair and nails etc) amplify and transmit the healing energies of the flower essences to their appropriate sites of action, and at the correct frequencies.   This process is similar to the way radio waves strike a crystal in a radio so that the crystal resonates with the high frequencies, absorbing them and transforming them into audio frequencies which can be heard by the human ear.
